YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Gilford Community Church has a strong commitment to the development of our children and youth. Scott Hodsdon, our new  Director of Youth & Family Programs, works with closely with our Educational Ministries committee and our pastor. All are committed to implementing a vital and thoughtful Christian education program for the church.

Our church sch ool program provides for children from preschool through middle school. Children go to the sanctuary with their parents; after a children's sermon they go to their classes. Each class has two teachers as part of the church's child-safety policy. The children are also involved in the worship service Youth Events in a variety of ways. They can be acolytes and scripture readers. Many of our children participate in the children's choir and in our Christmas pageant.

Childcare is provided in Amy's Room for those children who are not of school age. There is a dedicated team of volunteers leading these different programs. New volunteers are always welcome.

Our youth are fully involved in the life of the church. They pariticipate in worship leadership, in confirmation classes, help out at church fairs, special events and youth groups. We have two youth groups, one for Junior High and one for Senior High youth.

Our yout Youth Eventsh are involved in both mission and service activities. We also gather just to have a good time. We serve one another and learn what it means to love mercy, do justice and walk humbly with God. Our mission includes local projects and service trips. During the summer of 2005 a group of youth and adults spent a week in Catadupa, Jamaica building, teaching and growing as individuals and as a group. In 2007, we spent a week in Vermont, working with families and businesses struggling with poverty.  In 2008, we took part in the hurricane relief project in New Orleans, Louisiana. We plan to continue similiar service projects in summers to come.

We are committed to building a community prepared to nurture each other's faith and serve the world.
